Two Rivers Head Start Agency offers the following programs:
Adult Education includes GED classes, books and test fees, scholarships for tuition fees, student fees and books
Children & Families program includes Back to school program providing new shoes, clothing vouchers to purchase school uniforms. Appointment required. Child Care Subsidy provides day care costs. Clients must be approved by DHS for child care assistance. Assistance with 50% of weekly co-payment.
Emergency Services provides one time financial assistance with rent and water bills. Those residing in Section 8 or subsidized housing are not able to receive these services. Assistance for un-insured or under insured clients with medical, dental care and eye glasses not covered by Medicaid and other health insurance.
Employment Services
Provides individual employment training on topics such as typing, computer skills Microsoft Word and Excel, customers service skills, resume writing, cover letters, employment search assistance, filling out applications and employment counselling, On-The-Job-Training for 6 months paid internship in the clerical field to provide experience to unemployed individuals, transportation costs for individuals employed with a minimum of 25 hours per week for the past 3 months. Assistance is provided in the form of bus passes, gasoline vouchers, car repairs and insurance.
Food Pantry
Senior Services
Financial assistance with car repairs, eye glasses, medical equipment, dental care, clothing and other needs.
Senior gift basket during Spring and Fall each year and can contain cleaning supplies, kitchen items or personal hygiene items.
