Friends of the Homeless provides permanent housing with 18 non furnished single room occupancy apartment units including fully appliance kitchenette and bathroom and with laundry facility on each floor. These units are subsidized from the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP).

Friends of the Homeless – Women’s Shelter, Permanent Housing and Resource Center, Dining room offers the following shelters:

Emergency Shelter  provides meals, showers and laundry facility.
Permanent housing provides 32 studio fully furnished single room occupancy apartment units including kitchenette and bathroom and  laundry facility on-site. The facility is co-ed and Section 8 subsidized. First floor is handicap accessible. Must apply for services at the Springfield Housing Authority on Sanderson Street.
Resource Center provides health clinic, access to computers,  training and case management.

Meals are served 7 days a week, 365 days a year at 755 Worthington Street.

Breakfast: 8:00 – 9:00 AM

Lunch: 12:00-1:00 PM

Supper: 4:30-5:30 PM

About Friends of the Homeless – Men's Shelter and Permanent Housing

Friends of the Homeless – Men’s Shelter and Permanent Housing provides the following shelters:

Emergency Shelter provides meals, showers and  laundry facility.
Permanent housing provides 60 units of single room occupancy in dormitory style, common kitchens, lounges, bathrooms and elevator. Males and females are separated on different floors. Laundry on-site.
These units are subsidized from the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP). Must apply for services. Chronic homeless applicants have priority. They have a waiting list.
