Community Action Center (CAC) – Colfax Office provides the following.

Emergency shelter- motel vouchers.
Emergency housing solutions- housing assistance, eviction prevention and move-in assistance and referrals.
Transitional housing- subsidy rent based on household income.
Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program- rental assistance.

Section 8 Home ownership Program
Energy Assistance- LIHEAP and Avista programs.

Weatherization services and home ownership information.

Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP)- assistance with applications.
Commodity Distribution- food distribution.
Community Food Bank- choice food pantry, bread room and nutrition education.

Support Services- thrift store vouchers, meal vouchers, limited transportation assistance, short-term rental assistance, legal information and referrals.

Prerequisities

Section 8 Home ownership Program:
First time home-owner.
Meet income requirements (employment or Social Security subsidy).
Not owe SHA / any Housing Authority any back payments.
No prior mortgage defaults for any family member.
Must have been on the Section 8 HCV Program for at least 1 year.
